Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out about open positions at DialAmerica?
Corporate
positions at our New Jersey headquarters are advertised on our web site, various job web sites (hotjobs.com), and local newspapers.  You may submit your resume via email or fax.  Please email resumes to recruiter@dialamerica.com.  The corporate Human Resources fax number is 201-327-3221.
Call Center positions are advertised in local newspapers.  If you are interested in a telemarketing position please call the local call center.  A list of our call center locations can be found here.  A staff member from the call center will discuss current openings and available shifts.

What happens once I submit my resume to the corporate office?
The corporate recruiting/retention team reviews all resumes received for corporate positions.  If your qualifications meet the needs of any open positions, we will contact you for further information and to possibly set up an interview.  We are unable to respond to each resume due to the high volume received at the corporate office.

What can I expect during the interview process?
All candidates are interviewed first by our corporate recruiter or employment manager.  We will begin by asking you to fill out an application.  After you have done this, we will sit down and discuss your work history, education, skills and goals.  Depending on the position, we may also conduct a skills assessment evaluation.  This is generally a computer-based testing process that will assist in assessing your job-related skill level.
If after the initial interview we believe you are a strong candidate, we will then have you meet with a department manager.  This is usually conducted on a separate date.

Can I submit a resume even if I have not seen a specific opening?
Yes.  You are always welcome to send a resume to our corporate office.  If we do not have a position available, we will keep your resume on file for future openings.  The recruiting/retention staff may also review your resume and find that you have the desired skill set for a position for which you may not have realized you are qualified for.

Will I be notified regarding the outcome of an interview?
Yes, we notify candidates via telephone or formal letter regarding the outcome of the interviewing process.

How soon after the interview will I be notified?
This is difficult to answer.  The timeframe depends on many factors including:  the number of candidates, the hiring manager's decision, the type of position, etc..  Therefore, there is no specific timeframe.  We do try to give candidates feedback within one to two weeks.

Do you provide relocation for external candidates?
At this time we do not offer relocation for any of our positions.

Do you promote from within?
Yes!  DialAmerica believes strongly in promotion from within.  We post positions internally through email postings and an internal postings board.  We prefer that employees stay in a position for at least one year prior to applying for a new position.

What is the normal career path or ladder like?
There is not a set career path at DialAmerica.  You set your own course!  You can stay within your chosen field or if you have an interest in pursuing a new direction we can help you to do so!  Human Resources is always available to help employees make these important career decisions.  We will do our best to help you follow the path you choose.
