DialAmerica Marketing, Inc. Announces $200,000,000 Milestone in Contributions to Nonprofit Partners
Mahwah, NJ, July 8, 2003 ---- At the end of its fiscal year (June 2003), DialAmerica
announced it reached a milestone of $200,000,000 in contributions to its nonprofit
partner organizations through the company’s cause-related magazine and product sales
programs.
In 1963 DialAmerica, operating then as Life Circulation Company, conducted its first
magazine sales program in support of local sports leagues. The program has expanded to
include an impressive list of deserving nonprofit organizations, including Special
Olympics, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Police Athletic
Leagues, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and many others.
Wendy J. Hamilton, MADD National President remarked on the $200,000,000 announcement,
“This is a truly amazing accomplishment. Just imagine the number of lives that have
been affected by your fantastic work in raising money for so many worthy causes. The
money you have generated for MADD has allowed us to support victims of drunk driving
crashes, educate the public about the human cost of drunk driving, and inform young
people of the dangers of drinking prior to age 21.”
“Each of you helps make this happen. Each of you provides the public with a valuable
service—even when there is no sale made, our important message is heard by many.”
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society recently recognized DialAmerica’s 15-year commitment
to the Society and its mission with the Partners Against Leukemia and Lymphoma Award
as well as electing DialAmerica to The Society’s Partner Hall of Fame.
Regarding DialAmerica’s contributions Norbert J. Sieber, Chairman, Society National
Board of Trustees, said, “ The $25 million the Society has received from DialAmerica
has helped fund various projects. The dollars go toward supporting research on future
cures as well as the day-to-day needs of the thousands of people who face life with
such blood cancers as leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. This
relationship clearly helps us achieve our mission to find cures for blood cancers
and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.”
DialAmerica’s professional telephone sales representatives, working in 15 branch offices
nationwide, call consumers offering subscriptions to popular magazines in addition to other
products and services, all at great rates. The program is unique in the industry; even
though subscriptions may be sold elsewhere at similar rates, only the DialAmerica offer
benefits the nonprofit organizations with a 12-½ % contribution. These contributions,
which are no-cost funds to the organizations, have added up to the impressive $200,000,000
mark.
Art Conway, President says, “There’s nothing better than handing a check for thousands
of dollars to Special Olympics, MADD or one of the other great organizations. Time and
again the organizations have told me that they wouldn’t be where they are today without
the dollars from DialAmerica. It makes going to work every day a great day.”
