MAHWAH, NJ, November 19, 2001 -- DialAmerica Marketing, Inc., the nation's largest privately
held telemarketer, announced it recently made a $50,000 contribution to the American Red
Cross’s Liberty Fund. DialAmerica’s president, Arthur Conway, presented a check in that amount
to Nancy Nolte, executive director, American Red Cross Bergen Crossroads Chapter. Mona Bookman,
director of Emergency Services (Bergen Chapter) and Gary Dykhouse, longtime volunteer and chairman
of Emergency Services (Bergen Chapter) joined Ms. Nolte on the dais during a ceremony before 300
employees at DialAmerica’s New Jersey headquarters.
DialAmerica’s Hours for Heroes Program Aids Victims of September 11th Attacks
Over 8,000 DialAmerica telephone sales representatives from offices in 27 states around the country
participated in a one-month sales program called "Hours for Heroes". As the company met its budgeted
hours and as telephone sales representatives met or exceeded their scheduled hours, dollars went into
the company’s collection.
According to John Robinson, DialAmerica Branch Manager, Melbourne, FL, "Our reps were eager to help
out the victims of the terrorist attacks in any way they could. When the Human Resources management
team created the "Hours for Heroes" sales program, the reps were immediately driven to succeed. It became
their mission during the month-long program to help raise as many dollars as possible to aid victims and their
families. Our company does many great things for non profit organizations, but this was definitely a highlight
for all the staff involved."
Red Cross Executive Director Defines Mission of the Liberty Fund
At the check presentation, Ms. Nolte told the audience that "..with the Liberty Fund, our one and only purpose
is to support those who suffered as a result of the September attacks. Whether families lost loved ones or
their employment, the Red Cross is there to help. There are many young families who were affected and they
need help today. But they will also have needs one, five, ten years down the road and the money that the
American public, including DialAmerica, donated will be there for them."
